Desentendimentos / Misunderstandings

Ja algum tempo que nao postava uma daquelas coisas que so me acontecem a mim... pois ora aqui vai uma! :P Como tenho uma duvida relativamente a minha situacao tributaria, enviei um email ao servico competente com uma pergunta em ingles, desculpando-me pelo facto de nao falar alemao. Passados alguns dias recebo a resposta, que passo a citar:

"Sehr geehrter Frau

Our official community language is germen, therfore I’ll answer your question in german to avoid misinformation."

[...e depois vem uma informacao qualquer em alemao da legislacao dos impostos no cantao de Basileia-cidade.]

Ora, eu nem sei muito bem onde comecar, se pelo facto de o senhor me chamar de mulher (Frau), se eu dizer que nao falo alemao e ele me dar a explicacao nessa lingua, ou se pelo facto de uma resposta em alemao ser, a ver do senhor, a melhor forma de evitar desentendimentos... no comments! :P

Already for some time that I haven't posted one of those things that just happen to me... so here it goes one now! :PAs I had a doubt about my taxes payment obligations, I have sent an email to the responsible department with a question in english, and excusing myself for not speaking german. Some days later I receive a reply, which I now quote:

"Sehr geehrter Frau

Our official community language is germen, therfore I’ll answer your question in german to avoid misinformation."

[...and then some information in german on taxes legislation in Basel-city canton follows]

Well, I am not even sure where to begin, if by the fact that the person called me a woman (Frau), the fact that I told him that I couldn't speak german and I get the answer in that language, or if by the fact that replying in german was, according to  the guy, the best way of avoind misunderstandings... no comments! :P
